Vintage Converted Factory

I stumbled on this gorgeous home on facebook this morning, and needed to share it!  This space is in Melbourne, and was formerly a mattress factory that has been converted into a rustic-vintage style home.

Adoring the predominate use of white throughout the house, especially the white floorboards and window shutters.

The chandeliers give the home a luxe feel, while still remaining cosy.  My fave spaces are those with juxtaposing themes and styles, so the use of the rustic floorboards, painted brick walls and mismatched furniture with chandeliers, mirrors and french style furniture, really makes me happy!

Vintage floral prints are a favourite of mine and I've been collecting prints for around my own home.  Clustered together (hanging or layered as I do!) just works, just like rows of different flowers at the markets or in a florist.

The kitchen hutch cabinet is the perfect way to store all your crockery and serving ware, especially if you have a penchant for tea parties!  The key is to cluster together by shape, style or colour, as pictured below, with cake stands above the cabinet, linen and cutlery at the bottom, and crockery sorted by colour!

If space allows, a cosy space for guests is always a welcomed addition to a home.  (This guest space reminds me so much of our stay at Trelawney Farm in Mudgee).

What do you think of this space? Do you love all or parts?  Could you live here, or would you love to just pop in for a visit?

Peacock Chair Inspiration

Peacock chairs are the perfect way to add a bohemian vibe to your wedding or event!  They're such statement pieces with their high and wide round back and fancy cane weaving.  Popular in the 1970s, these chairs are making a stylish comeback in creating a genuine bohemian vibe.

Style them with dreamcatchers, white lace cushions or a side table covered in doilies and crystal vases.

Pair two peacock chairs together for the bride & groom to sit on at the reception, or for the registry signing at a garden wedding ceremony.

We've put together a collection of inspiring and beautiful ways to use peacock chairs for weddings, parties, photoshoots or even around your home....

We have 2 white peacock chairs that we love so much and want to share the peacock love with other gorgeous in-love couples, so have made these available to hire (within and around Sydney)!!  Email us for availability.

Bridal Shower Inspiration by Ashdown and Bee

A few weeks ago, Simon and I travelled to Mudgee (4 hours west of Sydney) for a shoot we organised at the gorgeous Trelawney Farm.

Trelawney Farm is a gorgeous boutique farmstay house that has been beautifully restored and styled in a industrial country vibe by owner Kathy Collins & hubby.  Set in picturesque country NSW, this cottage is the ultimate country getaway sleeping 12 people! The perfect place to go away with the girls for a bridal shower weekend.

We rallied together a group of talented creative folks to create this inspirational styled bridal shower.  (Credits after the images!)

We were also lucky enough to have this shoot featured on the most amazing wedding magazine & blog, Hello May!

Here's a few more shots from the day.  Sit back and enjoy the party....

Thanks to all the amazing vendors who helped us create this - please check them out!!
